Just to clarify: When I say for custom pours; I mean they order a custom design, and we fulfill it as best as possible. Could 3d printers be somehow utilized to make the 'negative' for the mold pours? Thanks!

I write articles on hubpages. Here is an example of a basic article relating to investing. I only make ~ 3 cents/day from natural traffic, but say you wrote a blog a day for 5 years, had good backlinks and good SEO as well as publishing on multiple article sites you would make good passive income.

My article is a decently written stand alone article with no back-links ect.

Here is my example:

It's really easy to format your articles and setting up the account to receive funds is really easy. You can write about pretty much any topic as well (got something DIY related? write an article about it).

So I'm obsessed with Precious metals and commodities (Gold/silver/copper). One of my neighbors was throwing away an old power washer so I decided to take it apart because I assumed there would be a decent amount of copper inside (due to an electric motor to pump water).

I was right and found ~ 1 pound of copper wire in the 'motor' portion of it and another ~ 20 feet of a more fine copper wire.

I was wondering if any of you took stuff apart for their metal value. Also I am interested in what I should look for in the trash to get high yields. So far I have:

> Power washers (really anything with an electric motor)
> Refrigerators (cooling coils/motors)
> Wire from electronics

IDK what it is about precious and semiprecious metals, I love em.

Invest in U.S nickels instead. They protect against both inflation and deflation!

The article also touches on:
> Gresham's law
> Pre 1982 U.S pennies
> Pre 1964 silver coins
> Old gold coins

TLDR: Fill your basement with nickels.

So; I'm looking to get into smelting my own bullion coins/rounds out of copper/silver/gold. I don't have any experience with smelting metal, but I've done basic research and watched a few videos online. I love metal commodities (precious and base) and have always wanted to craft my own 'coins'. For now they'll be for myself for fun, but I may try to sell them in the future.

To start I'd probably use copper which has the highest melting point of the 3 at around 2000 degrees f.

I'm looking for advice on how I could go from the raw metal material to a 'coin' with a design of my own on it. Would I have to order specially made casts? Do you think it would be possible to heat/hammer the metal into shape (i know presses use multiple tens to multiple hundreds of tons of press force).

I was thinking about building a solar foundry (link related, I got a /diy/ boner of epic magnitude when I saw it, great /diy/ channel) to perhaps melt the metal. Building this device would probably be difficult for me but do-able, and I could use it for a senior project at my uni (sustainability studies major, eng/econ minor).

Looking for any and all advice related to the topic. Also lmk what you think of the video of the solar foundry.
