I have that 4A Viking charger from HF, I actually put the little ring terminals on the battery after learning the power supply wouldn’t work. But also that lead acid battery is shot and the “smart” charger gives an error message if the battery is below 12.0V, so it’s a pain in the ass.

If I redid it properly with a fresh battery, I could do what you were saying and get rid of the 12VDC adapter, also maybe cut proper wood.
