After this experience, I always check the torque as soon as I get home from the tire shop. Had them overtorque the lugs like crazy and when I got a nail in my tire, the spare tire iron bent before the nut broke loose.

After having the shop touch your wheels, it’s worth cracking them with a proper socket and 24” breaker bar, or an impact wrench if equipped, and torque them to a reasonable limit before you start driving around,
