As an actual design engineer, I have to agree that just throwing shit together because it "feels right" is a lot more fun than digging out all the equations and tables and studies and spending a lot of time trying to do it "per the book", but ON THE OTHER HAND IT'S NICE WHEN IT FUCKING WORKS.
