Do not try to stop something really heavy from falling, it will just crush you/injure you. instead: run away from it.
You will get sun burnt by the welder if you stand near it while the welder is using it. He is not the only one who needs to wear protective gear.
Close your eyes while blowing dust off something.
Heating a sealed container makes it into a bomb.
The machine will always win. Do not start a fight with the machine, it does not understand the concept of conflict or winning or losing, it is a soulless robot with no motivation or desire to do you harm but it can, and will, unless you respect it.

'101 Things I Learned in Architecture School' is a collection of simple architectural best practices that can help you avoid common mistakes in design. Not all of it is directly applicable to designing a house but it does give you a better frame of concept to think in while deciding on floorplans and architectural elements. It's a very easy read and makes for a good mini-sized coffee table book when you're done with it. Good bathroom reader too.
