Menards should have been sued into bankruptcy after that, there is no excuse for that kind of safety hazard in a retail store open to the public.

at Home Depot they are fanatic about safety, thats why there is netting on all upper shelves and extensive rules regarding the safe storage of every product you can think of beyond 8ft or so. opening associates had to do sweeps of their department and check off any hazards or safety issues and report them to managers on our phones and they were expected to be resolved within the hour. the few accidents we did have were outside of customer areas and didnt result in any injuries, just lots of damaged merchandise to be RTV'd.
