You're probably not going to do better than the recip saw Harbor Freight has on sale all the time for $20.

It's a piece of crap and the blade holding mechanism is dodgy, but it does the job it's supposed to do reasonably well. Picked up one recently, used it to saw up a spa (feels a little strange chucking a $10 carbide-toothed blade into a $20 saw), a gazebo, and a couch.

As much as I REALLY hate the "disposable tool" mentality...totally worth the $20, even if it shits out later (which I fully expect it to).
