Eh might as well try here first.

I have this Buffalo drill press that has been sitting unused. Decided to make a work bench and mount this thing.
I don't know much about it though. There's a little pulley mounted on it, I presume it's to help raise the platform which weighs a good 100lbs. But then behind the pulley is this other hoist thing (the aluminum bar stock with 3 holes drilled in it). What might that be for?
