>The wood frame is not a weak link unless wind knocks it down, and that has nothing to do with glue or screws or nails.

there are ancient wooden building in china that are designed to survive an earthquake - WOOD IS NOT WEAK and Ive never claimed it was.

Problems arise when people treat wood like stone - put layers of plastic insulation on it, wrap it with Tyvek, pick too young wood etc. When moisture hits a badly designed wooden/glued house loading beams cant be dried out with air and you get inner mold and other smaller or bigger problems.
Todays architects are idiots that treat materials like photoshop colours - "oh this colour looks nice lets use wood here, this look more suave than this", "oh, looks like we used too much concrete and its cold, lets just spray some plastic on it"... not a trace of structural forward thinking. Wooden builds are actually very complex and people underestimate them so you end up with mcConstruction freak show.

>The wind breaker needs to a natural non plastic material like Hunton or Leijona.

Isnt a well built log cabin enough protection for the wind if its well made and doesnt have gaps? Also what material is Hunton and Leijona? This is the first time I hear about non plastic sheating

>Energy efficiency

so much problems in the world wouldnt exists if people simply continued to wear sweaters inside the house. Its literally that simple.

>Also, timber framing takes a lot less skill than log carving.

yes, but why didnt they went by legit timber frame like pic rel (not mcmansion style timber frame), you can isolate such a house with mud and stick or if that is too peasant like, you can use bricks between - which tells us how underdeveloped old styles our today and how much superior we can make them with modern tools etc., we dont have to just invent inferior new technology like plastic wraps and plastic insulation
