Here is also one of the first stills I made, just a little pot still out of a stock pot like the one you are looking to buy.

If you have any more questions about building one or whatever then I will try and answer.

pressure cooker because it already has the seal. stock pot the lid is really flimsy and can't hold my weight, it tends to warp and bend with the weight of the column onto of it.

there isn't anything else that works as well as flour paste and is safe to use with alcohol, you can mould flour paste and fit it in every little gap, you can't do that with anything else and still make a distillate that would be considered safe. you wouldn't need flour paste on a pressure cooker.

<< here is my first stock pot still, it will produce 60% distillate, it is a pain in the ass to clean the hard flour off it. steeping works well but it's still a pain. I like my keg still better, no flour required, easier to assemble / dissemble, easier to clean.

just finished building my reflux still and ran it for the first time. got about 1.5L of around 60 - 70%, unsure yet, waiting for spirit hydrometer to come in the post so I can check then dilute to 40%.

if anyone has questions about distilling, even though I am a newbie I have read quite a bit and will try to answer as best I can.

pictured is my 15L electric reflux still. I also have a much larger electric 50L still made from an old beer keg, but I wanted to get used to distilling small batches first before working up.

sorry for cloudy pics, camera lens cover is smashed on my phone.
