If you don't feel like modding the bm-800 this might be an overall better option. Same price of about 50 bucks

Buy some tascam portable microphone interface combination thing with microphones and connect it to your computers line in.

For 50 bucks total you have a portable studio microphone with exceptional quality and the ability to gather foliage sounds in nature etc whatever you wanna do with it.

As a bonus its EXTREMLY good for listening to music with as their DACs and headphone amplifiers are at least twice as good objectivly as anything you get prebundled with a phone or computer
