i need to get a job running machines like this. i built my own, 2 ft by 4 ft and its great for crafts etc. but looking at your pic related.. i think that is my calling. before i get too old and broke down to continue my labor intensive remodeling career.

i did the whole project on sketchup, was going to do the whole project series, then i built my cnc, but just reading all of gingery's books was well worth the time. im gonna miss those old catalogs.

tfw a coworker a few years back, after i showed him my cnc machine and what it could do, said"what the fuck are you doing working here?"

i used that polycrylic before, works good enough

well after a week the partials are still tight and i can even eat with them. im happy with the results.

i appreciate the banter going on in the thread, but to me, just doing it, and adjusting, and recalculating, is much better than citing.

one of my hillbilly mottos, "nothing to it but to do it".

this is /diy/. less talk, more walk.

pic is remodel of a bathroom i just did. i tear out old tubs and make walk in showers for better accessibility. the door got installed after this pic.

the plastic melts to a malleable mass, so i did it with my fingers, over and over, until it became what it needed to be close to. in the end i used power tools to remove unwanted mass, then used heat to smooth again with my fingers.

was a pretty uplifting experience to be honest, had some good tunes on at the time. gotta trust in yourself and just say 'yes i can do this' and dont look back

+1 for farm cats. ive had em over the years and they leave me gifts on the steps. they get alot of lizards when there are many other nuisances, and i like lizards.

overall i like them around. i call em names like boy, big boy, mama cat, skitzy, and just made up shit because on a whole they dont last for years, they end up leaving or eaten themselves or something.

torx 3 1/2 inch deck screws are the best when framing anything for me, using an impact driver.

but dont try to do sheetrock work with an impact driver, it always pops out and pokes a hole beside the screw with the bit.

square is ok, but i favor star.

check into the polymorph beads, or friendly plastic. ive just found this amazing plastic and used it for alot of repairs and molds around the house. bought it at walmart.com, then picked it up at local store when it arrived. its pretty cheap

when i was 35 my bone structure started to fail so teeth were just getting loose. i had a great smile, but doc said i was shit out of luck, so had a full upper done and this lower partial.

no drugs, just smoked a lil weed, never the meth that we all know what does to teeth.

yeah i know they use acrylic, and you can actually buy a box of teeth online i think. i could feasibly make an impression with this partial, it fits that well, then cast an acrylic mold and insert the real teeth in it. im not above that, i have the /diy/ soul after all.

thx man, i too am impressed by alot i see here, and glad i can contribute myself time to time. i went bald at 21. on the physical body genetic lottery i didnt do all so great, but i was blessed in the brain dept. thx mom and dad for doing coke before i was born ;)
the tools i used to make em were a belt sander, a dremel, and a pot of hot water and a small micro jet lighter to heat up to form them. the tongue is amazing at making the surface smooth while you sculpt em.

a rough pic of the fit, they are secure as my previous ones, though not using the real things.

one thing to remember, if you eat a hot slice of pizza or just anything hot, over the 120 mark, lol they will deform and melt.

this is temporary till i can find a cheap mexican dentist, but to go out into public was a godsend.

im from east texas, 42

just spent two hours making a partial denture i lost in the lake last weekend falling off the drunk tube. i went in to dentist and they wanted 1500 bucks to make a new one, i had to say Nope!

found a youtube vid, ordered the stuff, and after 7 bucks and a few hours of my time, i feel better about my appearance again.

i dont know if it will leach into my body and grow me manbewbs.

3d printing beads. melt at 120, easy to sculpt. was a fun project, and could be done with much more precision of course.

the plywood usually have these mounted from the top side so its hard to replace them unless you pull the fabric off

what i would do is make a piece of plywood that is a tad smaller than existing, add 4 new t nuts and then screw that piece of plywood to the old plywood with a shitload of short sheetrock screws or something, make any sense?
