I want these things because I don't want assholes like you pair who seem to have no respect of the idea of personal privacy, taking shots of me via google glass/smart phones/whatever the fuck else you morons think is perfectly ok. Considering the increasing prevalence of facial/number plate recognition software, even more so.

in I do not authorise you to capture my image. End of story. If that's a problem, its yours, not mine.

> i'm >>500937, and i would fucking love security to ask me wtf was going on. I would in return ask why they were so desperate to capture my image. Not all of us are as scared of being questioned by, nor questioning authority as you are.

At least read the thread before you shitpost points that have already been panned.

you'd need to heat it to get a nice small radius bend, otherwise get a length of pipe (for great leverage) and bend it manually. Or cut pic related in half.

Got a CRT TV in your room? Unscrew half the back of it, and store things inside. Danger to the HV sections.

Oh wait, you're suggesting shining IR back onto yourself so your entire face is illuminated? You'd need some pretty high output to do anything other than make your face more visible than it was before, but could work. I still say doing the equivalent of shining a floodlight at a camera would be generally better though, in high ambient light the IR may not be bright enough to wash your features out.

I just forgot to name up.

Interdasting thought.

> You may be better using the infrared to conceal features of your face more than trying to "block" the camera.
Thats the idea..

My hacker space allows student/youth (17 and younger) access for free (in up to 4 hour blocks per day, 3 blocks a week) with very basic tool access. We also have a heavy discount for students (with current student ID) that will give them access to everything but the heavy machinery. If your local does not offer this, perhaps suggest it? Most hackerspaces are happy to do something like this in my experience. "hook 'em young" etc..

> Usually there are junk bins of free parts
The expectation is also that you also contribute to the junk bin every now and then as well.
