first step is ditch the video games, they add no value to real life. stop
and think how big of a waste of
time they really are. i would be depressed too if i spent all my time playing a video game instead of something that actually matters

>my approach is probably wrong / inefficient / wasteful / stupid, and I'm missing some obvious superior solution

the best part is when you come to accept that this is true 100% of the time. you cant change it, but you'll
never learn if you never try

hey just stopped in to share something funny. luck hasnt been on my side.

i took my bear spray right to the nuts. i had it in my coveralls pocket, somehow the clip came off, and then i hopped into my truck and it sprayed like 3 seconds straight at my junk.

i dont know how im still concious. i worked 7 hours in my bear mace soaked pants and underwear. i am currently in the most pain ive ever thought possible. it is fucking gnarly. it hurts so much it almost feels good. to top it off i was planning to fuck a real hot escort tonight but now i guess thats on the back burner

its probably a dead battery.

seems more likely that your battery was fucked over the winter, than to somehow blow a fuse during dewinterizing

you probably have a small draw with they key off. this probably deaded your battery then it froze over the winter

get new battery, replace that 90 amp
fuse if its burnt, and then test for a draw with key off.

protip: 90 amp fuse = heavy gauge wire. 90 amp fuse would have to be on something like the main power feed to the operators station

ive never even stepped foot on a boat let alone work on one so take this with a grain of salt

if you could heat that ring up with a soldering torch or sommit, it would try to expand but be unable because its being held tight. this in turn would cause it to compress itself, and shrink as a result. common method used on internal bearing races.

thats the only non physical way, unless youre feeling lucky. take something like a hot towel or something and wrap everything but the ring. then drop a piece of dry ice in the ring. you may get it to shrink just enough to fall out

literally all you have to do is apply as a leasehand on a rig. they dont really care about experience. when i used to run power tongs i would encounter leasehands and that was their first real job. no diy or mechanical skills to speak of.

on a rig everyone has a very specific agenda. leasehand brings food and cleans and laundry and all that kind of shit.

then you get moved up to roughneck. the roughnecks are the guys on the floor, pulling slips, latching elevators, putting on collars, filling pipe, etc

then you become a motorman. the motorman keeps the rig running. maintenance on the draw works, the gensets, the mudpumps, all the mechanical shit.

next up is derrick hand. he's the guy up the stick. way up at the crown he latches 3 joint lengths of drill pipe on a triple, or 2 on a double. he keeps count of how much pipe is in the yard. usually he is resonsible for everyone under him so the driller isnt constantly bothered

then you get driller, hes the guy who runs the rig. pretty self explanitory. easiest job on the rig physically.

then you get to a rig push, or tool man. hes the highest ranking on site aside from the consultant.

the consultant is a sub contractor to the company the rig is drilling for. you're looking at 1300-1500$ a day at this point.

ive seen drillers as young as 24. most were 50+

most toolpush/consultants were 60+

angle grinder wire wheel for rust, either run gears clean and dry, with dry graphite, or a light oil. for the bearings use wheel bearing grease. not much or theyll just overheat

most people say brass is fine but the same people also haven't a clue what brass is made of. zinc, copper, and often a pretty good amount of lead. zinc poisoning is not a good time, and it's certainly a possibility. i myself would not use brass

if youre getting a new piece made then just pry that thing out of there why does it matter? o ring pick, small flathead screw driver, skinny flat punch and just work at it

if that knife is mass produced, which it is, it's just a press fit as anything else wouldn't make sense from an economical standpoint. getting a machine to dispense that tiny amount in a perfect circle, plus buying and mixing epoxy, and then making sure none is visible, etc

press fit all they gotta do is make those rings 0.003 thou bigger give or take a thou than the bore's inside diameter. they call it the crush. then just stamp it in
