Wait! HF’s website claims there is a Chicago Electric cordless sawzall for $30. Only available in store. 18V NiCd battery not included, and you can’t buy the battery anywhere so good luck.

Thank the lord that they carry quality Hercules and Dia...Mil...Bauer blades even though you can’t buy a Hercules sawzall.

This is why Northern Tool is best.

I’m still so fucking confused. HF is selling new $100 torque wrenches as well. Their business model is fucking with my head, what are they doing?

They now have 5 different lines of real power tools that will compete with the name brands, but none of them have a complete line and they all have a shitty 90 day warranty. Hercules 20V line has 3 or 4 tools I think, Hercules 12V is 2 or 3 tools, Earthquake 20V is 2 tools, and I believe Earthquake 12V has a ratchet and a buffer (not sure how long a buffer will run on a 2.0Ah 12V battery). Bauer is the best selection but HF does not sell a cordless sawzall within their 9 brands of cordless tools.

I agree for the most part, but you have to take into account that he didn’t 100% shit on this battery pack when he really wanted to. He still said to pay SB&D in the end because muh boomer, but those batteries are def worth it for 30%-50% of retail.

Just left after trying to kill a few minutes waiting for the girl to get off work. Harbor Freight is gonna go to hell. They are releasing better stuff but it costs just as much as the Husky or Kobalt except you get almost no warranty on anything besides hand tools and they keep phasing out one brand and bringing in another more expensive tool so how the hell will you warranty a hand tool a couple years down the line?

Pic related. That Pitt Pro breaker bar is confirmed as the best buy you can get <$50 and is always on sale for $15 with a coupon. Now they have this Icon for $50 and I can’t find any difference besides a number stamped above the handle to look even more like a Snap On tool.

They just released 1/4” hex to socket square adapters for the Bauer and Hercules brands. The cheap Warrior adapters are maybe $3-$4, but go on sale for $1-$2. The Bauer and Hercules ones seem to be identical to eachother, and they look like the cheap ones with black paint and a little plastic sleeve on the shank with the logo. The Bauers are $7-$8, and Hercules ones are around $10.

Also those 20% off coupons are never good for anything worthwhile. Daytona is a HF brand. And they gave you the $30 off because there’s probably half a dozen different coupons for those jacks floating around right now.

AvE ripped apart a real DeWalt 3.0Ah and a knockoff and as much as he wanted to shit on it, you could tell he was sort of impressed.

Read the reviews and see what they say. His knockoff 3.0Ah packs came with Sony 2000mAh cells in it, so they were good cells and it was actually a 4.0 battery pack. He said it looked like the batteries had been used in something else prior, so my guess is they were taking battery packs that were trashed because of one or two bad cells, testing the ones that still had a good amount of life left, and using those in the knockoff. I believe it still had all of the balancing but was missing thermal protection or something so you want to make sure you don’t continue to run the tool if your battery pack is 200F.

And before you say “Oh the cells probably only have a few cycles left” I think he did a test on them too and they came really close to the full 4.0Ah.

Damn, I was thinking “it would be nice if there was just one combined data-power cable” while I typed that reply.

How much power can an ethernet cable actually send? Would it actually power those night vision IR security cameras? Do you need a special router or other equipment?

Meh, that’s why I registered my Ridgid stuff as soon as I opened it. Was real easy to do the online one because they already had the info, but the 12V kit I bought in store and entered all the info correctly and they kicked it back out so again I submitted the same exact info but found a spot to upload a pic (which supposedly isn’t needed) and I attached a pic of the receipt and they finally approved it.

Haven’t had to use any of the stuff yet so we’ll see. Lifetime guarantee on the batteries might be the only thing I hope I will need to use like 5+ yrs down the line. I want to grab a 2.0Ah because the 4.0’s are overkill on the impact, or try out a 3.0Ah Octane to see how it runs the Octane saw, but they don’t have the lifetime service on individual batteries.

I’m still kinda regretting not buying the 1/2” impact set with a compact drill, charger, and 2x2.0Ah batteries for $160 when it was on sale. The tool alone is $150, and the tool with a single 4.0Ah and charger is $160.

Also I saw a Gen5x 7.25” circ saw at the pawn shop for $60, it’s tempting despite not getting the LSA.

Put the plug adapter in, then put a daylight sensor under that, and then finally 12” further down from the original plug, you can screw in the light bulb.

But a somewhat more serious but still retarded idea: maybe you can steal power from right before the light and install an outlet, then get some sort of daylight sensor fixtures but you would still need to leave the switch on all the time.

Also my house has concrete exterior walls too and it sucks for some things, but one thing I noticed is the overhang for the roof/gutters is wood. So maybe you could run power and/or data through the attic and then come out from the top right above the camera. It would probably look cleaner that way too.

Really? Damn, I have heard good stuff about them from pretty much everybody. What was their excuse on the last battery pack?

>>1563278
If you’re willing to spend the money up front, it may be worth getting cordless just because it will end up at like $50 per tool for brushless stuff. If you’re just around the house, you shouldn’t have to worry about burning through 4Ah battery packs on a grinder or saw.

Wait for a good Father’s Day sale or something and you can get everything you need for <$500. Pic related was on sale for $350 for Xmas plus two free tools, so you could add a brushless grinder and sander. If you want more batteries, they had a 2pk of 4.0Ah batteries for $99, and those will run the saws for way longer than most boomers want to admit, and they sell 9.0Ah packs for Ridgid as well. 7 (well maybe 6 because fuck the light) brushless contractor grade tools and 4 fat batteries for <$500 after tax.

A similar Ryobi setup was even cheaper, I think it was $250 or less for a similar 5 tool kit with your choice of 2 free ones and they were all brushless as well so not even the lower end Ryobi tools.

Take a pic of that battery. The shape looks similar to the Ridgid-AEG 12V pack.

That one has that 90deg T shape you don’t see on tools anymore, the handle is always angled.

That’s why they’re all divided and I don’t have 20 next to eachother rolling around and shorting out. The 3 cells next to eachother are in a little plastic holder.

Better than painting.

And it all depends why you do. If you get a good union gig with a reputable company at important accounts, there will be far less alcoholics than if you’re working side by side with Jerome and and Juan out of Jerome’s cousin Deshawnn’s rusted out 1994 Econoline.

I cannot deny what I am.

There is also a Delta on there for $100 that retails brand new for $100.

And that actually was a pretty good deal. 98% of the stuff on CL is overpriced or complete old trash. I am not disappointed with my $25 waste of money. I just spent $300 on Disney passes for the girl’s bday and now I need to figure out what to do for hotels, I’m gonna have fun with my $25.

There was an ancient one for $75, but it was located in the gay neighborhood and I wasn’t trying to pay $50 and a blowjob. Otherwise there was another one that came on a stand for ~$100, but it was one of those $100 Chinese models, can’t remember the brand but I saw it around. I didn’t go back too far because good stuff sells fast (this was posted over the weekend) but the other stuff beyond that was either overpriced stuff that didn’t fit my needs or pawn shops asking $60 for a $40 HF grinder.

If I explode this thing next weekend doing retarded stuff, I’ll go buy the ancient grinder for $100 and still not regret spending the $25.
