I don't know where you live but if you are near any farms, ask if you could get any free vegetables and whatnot. I lived in a pretty rural area and the farmers always had fruit that was close to going off they would happily hand over for free.

Failing that, try this site http://fallingfruit.org/

type in your address or somewhere close and take advantage of fruit trees, vegetables, and herbs open to the public. It also shows places that dump good food (the IGA in my area is notorious for this.)

I'm a student, who is now in his last year of uni. I have squandered a lot of my cash over the last 2 years, and now must live on a very tight budget so I have some money when I leave university.

I have one of those student cook books, but most of it looks (and when i've tried, is) shit.

I was hoping for some easy and cheap meal suggestions, mainly based around rice dishes or pasta?
