Alright /ck/, I'm looking for the actual name of this recipe.

I got it from my grandmother who grew up in the south, who learned it from her mother. The only thing she knows it as is "nigger potatoes". Obviously I can't tell any qts I cook for that I am making nigger potatoes.

Anyways, you skin the potatoes and cut them into medium-sized chunks. Put them in a pan and cover them with water, add salt, pepper, celery seed, and butter. Also dice up some onions and toss them in. Then you just heat it stirring occasionally. As the water evaporates the remaining liquids thicken as the potatoes break down, leaving you with chunks of soft potatoes suspended in a sort of potato paste.
