How is it that I'm more uncomfortable casually chopping onions while my friend picks up his child and lingers around and like 4 other people walk in to start a conversation while i'm trying to do something than I am when there are like 10 people moving around me in a real kitchen?

Having people in my periphery when Im cooking is uncomfortable too. Feels more cramped the moment someone else loiters around the kitchen, even if they're on the far end of the room, their presence alone is annoying.

Unless im the one talking to them, then somehoe I'd be fine. Only applies when its only one person though

I actually got reprimanded for yelling "hot soup" because it reminded a waitress of when she spilled soup on herself because the restaurant had a zig zagged corner and someone yelled hot soup all over her cellphone and part of her stomach

With me it's because I always suspect someone is going to walk into my elbow when chopping/cutting, causing me to cut my hand. My kitchen is rather small, I just tell people (mostly my wife) to just get out of the kitchen when I'm cooking
