How do I get a job at a comfy smallish bar or coffee place as a bartender or barista

I feel it would fit with my

As a follow up, forgot to mention that some serious bars won't hire if they already have great bartenders. A good way to get your foot in the door is to apply for a barback job and work your up, it can help ease into the full job at your specific spot. Go get that shit anon

Find a sports bar place that serves food too and start in the kitchen. Then hint to your boss that you might like to be cross-trained after a while. That'll get you some experience you can list if you wanna work at more of an actual bar.

I only go to the kind of coffee shops hip enough to refuse to hand out sweetener and I don't see that shit at all. Plenty of not very attractive or "hip" looking folk. Just bizarrely passionate about coffee.

That was a couple years ago and my regulars still bother me when they see me in public, thinking I actually like them.
What's most important is being able to foster an environment where they feel like your shop is a personal space for them to relax.
