Yes, americans do really. It's all we do, in fact. Everything we do is always. Why? Because we're American and that's very different from literally anywhere else on the planet. Fear what you cannot comprehend.

They're great for that authentic greasy spoon thing.

Personally, I like my whites solid more than I like my yolks liquid, so the yolks normally end up at least part-fried. And it's not a proper fry-up unless the eggs are crispy at the edge.

It's so he had enough to spoon over the top of the egg while it cooked. Eggs don't really absorb oil anyway. And you can use clarified butter if you want to, but if you used regular butter at that heat it would probably burn.

Are you seriously saying you like that dry and sandy texture the yolk has after it's been cooked all the way through? Also just to educate you, any bacteria in an egg has been killed off once it has reached 140 degrees Fahrenheit. The whites and the yolk will cook and thicken when it's at 180 degrees Fahrenheit. So even before the egg is fully cooked, all of the bacteria is already gone from the egg and it is perfectly fine to eat the yolk if it's runny.

cook the eggs on both sides so it's at the lowest temperature. it's fried on both sides and but can get a barely runny yolk. this method cooks all of the whites. and you have the option for a solid yolk or a pretty solid yolk but with the tiniest bit of runnyness but it's still a choice
