i love steak, and i love lobster, but i've never understood why they would be served together for taste reasons. the reason is to make a decadent menu offering so people feel fancy for buying a luxury item.

steak with a skewer of shrimp makes a lot more sense to me, and i enjoy that more. i don't enjoy steak and lobster together. it's just too much. overkill. might as well just go to a buffet at that point.

I used to twist together shrimp over a tenderloin that's been topped with bernaise with asparagus underneath. Lobster is highly overrated unless you're used to overcooked everything.
