In the 1800's, English cuisine regarded these 12 types of seafood as the most important. Chefs were expected to be familiar with them; fishmongers commanded higher prices for them than lesser species. How many of these seafoods have you eaten, /ck/? Which are your favourites/least favourite?

My favorite is the McFish.

I’ve had flounder and salmon out of all those. A fried flounder filet with fries, hush puppies, and cocktail/tartar sauce is a meal anyone visiting the coast of South Carolina should have at least once during the trip, but I have to admit I like salmon more.

Herring, plaice, mackerel, salmon, cod, and crayfish, possibly some other though.
Salmon is probably my fave

I've had all of those but I wouldn't claim to be familiar with more than four of them: cod, herring, plaice, and mackerel. I should eat more salmon I suppose.

I bet you buy the disgusting 30% mayo mackerel packs.

I've tried everything on that list except Red Mullet and Gurnet. Favourite is Mackerel. Least favourite is salmon, I find it massive overrated.

Hah, can't honestly say I haven't done that in the past. I'd usually scoop out most of the mayo, though. It's too damn much.
My brother works on an oilrig and they do a lot of fishing off it. Apparently nobody but him actually wants the mackerels so he brings home a shitload of frozen ones every few weeks. I get some of them.

Our streams got invaded by outsider crayfish/crawdads and we are actually encouraged by the state to catch them. The "bag limit" is 100... per day. They are pretty tasty, but there are just so damn many.

>get mid-sized swimming pool
>fill with water
>over 10 days, catch 1000 crawdads
>store live in swimming pool
>hold neighborhood crawdad boil
>get your dick sucked by qts in the neighborhood
>save the environment at the same time
Believe in me who believes in you anon.

Cod, is the only fish,
Salmon is great, for cat food.

why is there a bag limit if they're invasive??
