Why does adding a flavorless thickening agent to liquid diminish its flavor?

>> No.9778828

it's hungry for flavor and takes the flavor from the thing you put it in

The result doesn't have a noticeably larger volume. Using konjak powder.

Make sure the flavorless thickening agent says that it is flavor enhancing and not flavor reducing.

Just made sausage gravy. Can confirm, flour does ruin the flavor. Gotta spice it up with salt and pepper.

Depends actually. If you add gelatin to say a gravy or a stew it will add to the flavor profile, mostly by giving he liquid so much more body. The process is a lot different than flour tho, since gelatin is basically bones.

You mixed it with water, not the broth

Take some broth out and put it into a mug, then you put your agent in, and voila! thick sauce without lost flavor

Larger mass equals less flavor? So is air the most delicious substance?

>> No.9783993

>>9783734
No you retard, he's saying because it has more mass it has more volume, so as aposed to using something like water or chicken broth, using the thickener in the same amount as those will result in more flavor dilution.
