today I hate oysters for the first time in a long time
I thought they were amazing
have you ever had oysters and if so what are the best kind and what's the best way to eat them

In northern Germany. "Fisch und Feines", a food fair/exhibition where retailers sell their products and hand out samples, it's always during the first or second weekend of november. I squeeze a couple of drops of lemon juice on them and that's it.

do you eat them while they're still alive?

Yeah. I chew a little on them so the taste fills my mouth more easily and I guess that's when they die.

i've only had Marennes-Oléron and normandy oysters both raw with some vinegar sauce and i love it but i prefer the Marennes-Oléron although i live near of the place so they must be fresher

They're a bit of an acquired taste. >>9701109
has it right. They are basically little bursts of fresh ocean.

Neat fact: they have no central nervous system so even ethical vegans could eat them!
