In my experience most Americans that cook a daily morning breakfast before work end up just doing a couple of eggs and maybe some bacon/sausage, or milk and cereal. Maybe some toast/fruit.

Things like bagels, sandwiches, or anything like that is generally reserved for a quick pickup on the way through Starbucks or whatever. On weekends, there's all kinds of brunch foods, like Eggs Benedict, burritos, omelettes, etc.

I personally don't eat breakfast unless on vacation, and I don't know how people can eat each morning. That shit puts me to sleep in a heartbeat. Coffee or bust for me.

Usually leftovers from recent dinners if they're there. Sometimes oatmeal made with milk, topped with salt and walnuts (no sugar). Sometimes a mozzarella or Swiss cheese sandwich with lettuce, onion, vinegar, and mayo. Sometimes an omelette with cheese and onion, and broccoli or asparagus if I have it, with toast and a side salad.

Those things probably make up 90% of my breakfasts. Once in a while I'll get bored of that and actually cook something different, like a few months ago I made a batch of borscht to have for breakfast for a few days. Have done a quick lentil curry and pasta dishes too.

Me and pops always had breakfast sandwiches of cheap pork sausage, chedder and an egg of two. Or corn beef hash drowned in Sriracha and a couple eggs.

Depends
The ideal diner breakfast is
>eggs
>bacon, ham, cornbeef hash, or breakfast sausage
>potatoes (either hash browns or squared potatoes) or pancake or waffle or french toast
>toast (unless you're in the south west, then you can get tortillas)
>coffee or orange juice
Some other popular resturaunt dishes are
>huevos rancheros (tortilla refried beans and egg. South west only)
>breakfast burrito (burrito with scrambled egg, potato, onion, cilantro, salsa, and breakfast meat. Popular in the south west)
>Chilequiles (tortilla chips tossed in hot sauce served with refried beans, queso blanco, eggs, and avocado. South west again)
>Grits
>biscuits and gravy
>scrambles (egg, vegetables and meat all fried together. Usually served with bread, potato, or tortilla)
Boujee people eat avacado toast with poached egg but fuck them
Most normal people at home eat
>cereal and milk
>boiled O A T S with brown sugar and fruit
>smoothies
>toast or english muffin with peanut butter, butter, or jelly

The memes about america eating a lot of sugar and carbs is true by the way. But that's only because our government doesn't educate us and lets business have their way with us. We have to work long hours because of no labour laws and our children are sold brand name junkfood in schools (Michelle Obama actually helped a little bit with that but all that change is gone now). Fast food is popular in america because people work a lot and are too tired to cook or just don't know any better.
But breakfast in america is one of the few things I can be proud about in my country. And seeing things like how american syrup isn't maple syrup but just dyed corn syrup, or sugary cereal marketed to children make me sad.
The americans who say obsessed are rude, too, because they believe the way things are now is ok

Murrican here,

I live on a small farm and just about every morning I have the following.

>A bit of sausage, bacon, steak, chicken, game bird or rabbit
>An egg (or two, if I didn't have other protein.)
>A couple pieces of wheat toast
>I don't drink coffee, so I have some tea

Honorable mentions
>oatmeal with diced up fruit in it
>leftovers from last night
>A pancake with an over-easy egg on top.

I eat way too much chicken, pork, and eggs.

Sounds pretty fucking awesome really.

Norwegian here I just make a whole load of pizza once a week, freeze it in the freezer and microwawe one huge slice each morning on weekdays.

On weekends everything is top class but since from monday to friday its waking up 5:05 for work and having the food warm as I shower its a different game. Busy people busy habbits, don't have time for lunch before 12:00 so the breakfast needs to be heavy. I also drink 500ml of strong black coffee, 300ml water and 150ml of bifidus yogurt with the pizza.

I'm trying to avoid eating dairy and it's hard as fuck, I've had cereal basically all my life. I don't mind toast but then I don't know what to have for lunch because that's typically a sandwich.

That said, this thread has some good ideas, thanks
