>REEEEE IT'S NOT GRILLED CHEESE WAH WAH WAH

Listen you faggots. Just because you put other ingredients in a grilled cheese sandwich doesn't mean it's not a grilled cheese anymore, ok? Maybe you have a child's palate and can't handle anything with real flavors like us mature adults but the grilled cheese sandwich is a blank canvas in which you can paint any type of picture. If you put mushrooms and salami and jalapenos on a cheese pizza, you wouldn't say it's not pizza anymore would you?

grilled cheese is pure. condiments are okay, but almost every other thing you can put on a sandwich outranks cheese

Is a quesadilla a grilled cheese sandwich?

>> No.9658668

It may be semantics, but it's true. If you add a bunch of other ingredients, then it's just a grilled sandwich, not specifically a cheese sandwich. The main difference is that cheese is used as an ingredient on most other sandwiches and burgers. So defining it as specifically as a grilled CHEESE sandwich means it features cheese as the main ingredient. For example, you wouldn't make a cucumber sandwich, which is a specific type of sandwich, and then add tomatoes, lettuce, onion, etc and still call it a cucumber sandwich. Then it becomes a veggie sandwich or whatever you want to call it.

Only if you are a dirty American. Europeans don't have the obsession to put industrial cheese on everything, mainly because we have good cheeses that are much more regarded as a standalone product.

Why so triggered to make such a mundane thread? For the record I like my grilled cheese with year old Gouda, peach jam, and jamon de Serrano
