Cut one in half
>using cheese grater grate up one and a half of them
>put it between two towels
>push down to get the water out
>take the other potato and a half
>cut it up smol
>cover in cold water
>add salt
>boil for about 45 minutes

>drain taters
>mash the cunts up
>throw in your grated potatos
>add an egg
>add some salt, pepper, finely cut onion or onion powder
>add 3 or four spoons of milk
>add a half cup to a cup of flour (less makes them softer, more makes it more filling)

Throw a fuckload of butter in a skillet

Your mixture should look like cat food puree.

Spoon about the size of your palm of the stuff into the hot butter and flatten it out. For a normal sized skillet you can cook about 3 at a time. Flip once on side is golden brown. You should end up with 8 to 12 of these things. Serve with sour cream, mayonaise, applesauce, or whatever the fuck is in your fridge.

What does the water do and how do you dry them?

You want the starch to get leached out a little bit so they get crunchy, after they've sat in the water just lay them flat on a paper towel while blotting them and let them air dry for about 15 minutes or so, just until you can't see moisture any more
