Why do Americans have so many allergies? I've never known anyone to have peanut allergy for example, but it seems to be very common in the US from what I reckon.

inbreeding, and i mean the hardcore type of inbreeding between brother and sister. Not the softcore type between cousins.

Irish genes ruined the stew.

Epic bantz, the real answer is that here in the US we actually test for things like allergies instead of just shitting out kids and letting nature take its course

Perhaps the emphasis on germs and sanitation- my understanding,is that kids on farms or playing outside a lot tend to have few allergies, but if you grew up where every surface is lysol'd yout immune system is more sensitive

Yeah there is some kind of peanut paste you can give an infant and they develop allergies at a much lower rate. Wish our half ass pediatrician had mentioned that before my daughter turned out to have a peanut allergy

What makes you think that? I'm 36, and I've lived in the US since I was 3. I have never met anyone with a peanut allergy. Nobody in my elementary, middle, or high schools had one either. (And these were big schools, not tiny little flyover shitholes) I never met, knew, or even heard about someone having such an allergy in college, or in any of the companies I have worked for.

It's nowhere near as common as you might think.

Its not really that common. Its just peanuts are pretty common in things so people who have it worry.
