Any good advice for making a really good buffalo chicken sandwich?

>> No.9533250

I would also like advice on making a good buffalo chicken sandwich. I'm stuck in some nowhere backwater shit-heap farming village in England though, so getting a hold of ingredients with actual flavour is a challenge to say the least.

can you get your hands on some franks red hot? if so, make your buffalo sauce by heating up some of that with some butter while stirring or whisking, add some garlic and onion too,
then clean up a chicken breast cutting off any fat or cartilage that is between the two breasts. and put it in between a couple pieces of plastic wrap and pound the thick end to make it as uniformly thick as you can with out ripping holes or shredding it up.
for your breading go with seasoned flour then dip it in seasoned egg wash, then panko bread crumbs. pan fry it or deep fry it then coat it in your buffalo sauce. don't forget to toast your bun.

Be conservative with your toppings. Bit of lettuce, bit of tomato. If you're asking this it means you like the Buffalo-sauce and breading, so don't cover them with adding meme toppings or other sauces or a bazillion spices.

Otherwise for the good bits, this guy >>9533318 knows his shit. Or, find a good frozen breaded breast you like and deep fry/oven that shit. I think m&m had REALLY good breaded chicken, looked a lot like your pic. If you cbf to cook or want a frozen solution.

I mean I've used a couple similar dressings and they all worked out nicely

Ok, you're gonna want to use chicken thighs and not breast meat. You want to double-dredge the flour (meaning, coat in egg wash (which you've added hot sauce to), dredge in flour, dip again in egg wash, then dredge again in flour). Then you're gonna fry your chicken thighs for about 4-5 minutes per side in hot oil, then douse them in the best southern hot sauce OR buffalo sauce you can find. Good mayo mixed with either fresh dill or chive (don't use ranch you idiot) is a good spread for your bun, and shredded iceburg lettuce will add crunch as well as a bit of a cooling factor. Add sweet pickles, preferably homemade and you're off to the fucking races aren't you?

are you anons talking about adding dressing to your buffalo sauce or to the sandwich. I've never heard of adding dressing to buffalo sauce

This except don't use breast meat. Use thigh meat, it's more tender and flavorful and won't go dry

Listen to this guy here. I mae a sandwich 99% like this (no iceberg) and its the truth.

>>9534763
sandwich, not the sauce

also pro-tip: emulsify the butter into the red hot sauce. that means cold butter into warm sauce, wisking vigorously.

Sandwich, it compliments it nicely

Is it possible to make a homemade buffalo sauce better than franks without using franks? I mean I know it is but how likely is it I'll end up with something better than franks+butter? Is it a long-term fermented sauce like tobasco?

I would try Crystal or Tapatio.

no, buffalo sauce is Franks and butter. Anything else is just hot sauce and butter. Tobasco will taste much different.

Why did this sound so sexual
