Does /ck/ like leeks?

They had them at the farmer's market and I got two bunches. I put some on garlic bread and some in fried rice.

Neither did you, you inconsiderate jerk!

I like leek, btw. Except when I forgot to clean them thoroughly and I keep biting on bits of sand.

>> No.9490605

Really only use them in soups.

Unsure of what else to do with them.

Season and roast 'em brah.

Slice them up and steam them. Pour some gravy over them and they're good to go.

Fucking love em. I replace them for onions frequently.

Great in chicken stew and quiche.

>> No.9490750

Best thing for potata salads
Also fry really nice in lemon zest and butter

They're basically large spring onions with more body

>>9490605
Slice them thin, brown in butter, then cover with cream, salt to taste, reduce until desired consistency

I liked this recipe when I made it. Pretty simple:

All I can think of when I see or hear about leeks is this hentai flash game where some giant sentient leek has sex with a girl. I'm pretty sure seeing this at a young age damaged me and my perception of leeks forever.

I do.

Slice the white "core", pan-fry it, serve as a side dish.
Add slices to any soup to get a nice perfume.
Grab leaves and any leftovers for vegetable stock.

Its like a big green onion you goof. Leeks are great a bunch of ways.

They're a good veg filler in pies. Chicken and leek is tasty.

Nobody, you paranoid weirdo. It's just a versatile vegetable.

>> No.9491975

As stated, the stalks go in anything as a subtly different onion, but what about the greens?

For mine, I slice into around half-inch pieces, and then stirfry with a couple cloves garlic, a few takanotsume, some doubanjiang, and thin-sliced charsiu, then deglaze with a soy-mirin mix.

Yes. My two favorite leek recipes are biscuits and gravy with a bacon/leek cream gravy, and quiche Lorraine with pancetta, leek, and gruyere.
