I actually hate McDonald's. Only thing I'd be able to stomach there is breakfast stuff maybe, coffees n shit.
Anyway, the fruit loops milkshake tastes like someone left a bowl of fruit loops out to get soggy then blended it with vanilla ice cream. It tastes like ass.
Have you seen them even make it? They take this clear liquid that has bits of fruit loops in it and fill a third of the cup with it. Then they add vanilla ice cream from their machine and blend it. The chick making it for me kept looking back at me nervously as if she was trying to say "are you sure you want this crap".

Your taste buds are fucked and I hope you stop drinking those shakes. You can get way better shakes elsewhere.

Also solid icecream is lower density than liquid. One of the things that defines icecream is the amount of air whipped into it. Blending it all together removes that air and lets you cram more mass into the same volume.
