Funnily enough, I remember one time I was with my dad as a kid and he was drinking. He put in the Accident of Birth album right after it came out and danced and sang to it until he passed out on the couch. I sat in his apartment alone with him occasionally waking up and shouting slurred nonsense at me for three hours until my mother came to pick me up. I was only 7 or 8. He threatened to fight me. I still remember every word of that damn album from that incident. One of the most vivid memories of my childhood.

Yesterday I think I came out of a blackout state. I came to in my bathroom, but I was still standing and it was pitch black. I was extremely disoriented to the point where I was feeling around my bathroom because I couldn't figure out where the door was and I was trying to move along the wall. I was extremely afraid of falling or something. Eventually I just kept moving until I accidentally put my foot in the toilet (I was in the tub and I think I was confused because I felt like I was boxed in but didn't step over the tub because I didn't know I was in the tub) and that finally let me realize where I was relatively and I was able to turn on the light. Then I just went to bed.

It was a very strange experience.

Once you reach the point of extreme physical dependency, you should actually be driving with a little alcohol in your system from a safety perspective (both for yourself and others) as the physical withdrawal symptoms will make you much worse off for driving, while a little alcohol will alleviate your symptoms and you won't actually notice the effects because of your tolerance.

I'll never forget this as long as I live, my little brother who is a binge drinking alcoholic had a seizure because of alcohol withdrawal while he was at a court mandated AA meeting(second dui) He cracked his head on the pavement, when they found him he was blue in the face and had to be put in a medically induced coma twice, had to be intubated twice.
