Candies that seem classy and decadent that you can make as gifts for friends and family, while not having romantic undertones

Just buy a box of chocolates and a bottle of booze to share like normal people. You could always get pic related. Make sure the chocolates you're buying are actually chocolate and not PGPR (polyglycerol polyricinoleate, an emulsifier made from toxic waste). Make sure it's made with cocoa butter solids.

Fruitcake! It combines the best of both worlds - candy and cake! Plus, everyone is always thrilled to receive one as it is easily re-gifted multiple times since it will last forever. From wikipedia:

"A 106-year-old fruitcake discovered in 2017 by the Antarctic Heritage Trust was described as in "excellent condition" and "almost" edible.[11]"

I like making rum balls, they're easy as fuck to make, they're small, so easy to make for a lot of people as well as easy to transport/gift, they look pretty classy and of course they contain liquor, which is always a hit.

I make cinnamon-roasted almonds (or any nuts) for such occasions.

Caramels are the best choice. You can make them, and wrap them individually pretty easily, but they impress easily.

Oh, ok. Thanks, learned something. We call them "nidletäfeli".

Salted caramels are just the best. But does anybody know a recipe that actually makes "melt in your mouth" caramels? Mine usually get too sticky or too hard.
