Cereal has always been a favorite food of mine. One day, when I was about 32-33, I actually looked at the box and realized I was eating a 2000 calorie bowl of cereal that only kept me from being hungry for about 2 hours. A real eye opener there.

Most dietitians start off every new client with the same thing: Keep a log of everything you eat or drink for a week, and then they break down the calorie and sugar counts. Partly because it's very effective at shocking the hell out of people.

Moral of the story, people need to take more of an interest in the nutrition labels on food. They're there for a reason. I wish I'd learned sooner. I taught my teenagers early on not to ignore the labels so they didn't make the same mistake.

I've yoyo'd in weight before and so has partner. The initial stage is always hard as you will either take responsibility and make possible steps, or continue to bitch about how unfair it is and take it out on others.

The truth is you can lose weight and eat bigger meals by making your diet more diverse. Hungry? double your meat and veg and reduce your carbs. Reduce sugary goods and replace with less-calorific alternatives.

If you are gonna hold on to such trivial excuses about why you can't lose weight, you deserve to be fat. Although, there are the exceptions of those with ACTUAL medical issues, not fat manchildren.

I mostly blame being forced to work for a living. I am obese as fuck. I am about 250lbs overweight. Idon't like it, I am not proud of it or happy with myself.

But I HAVE to use a cart at the store. I HAVE to use one. There is absolutely no choice. I am sure you have all seen the images of americans shitting themselves in Wal-Mart? Well, I lost control of my bowels about 50lbs ago and I will shit myself if I had to walk around the entire store. My body can't cope with the stress of walking past the fibre in the produce section and standing at the same time, so I would shit myself.

I also have major leg and ankle problems. My right ankle has fungi, and therefore I support life, and the fungi seem to be attacking my flesh as much as possible, so walking is very difficult. Walking makes the fungi more angry, as they clearly value a stable climate and don't enjoy earthquakes. I can relate as I have a friend who was killed in the Haitian earthquake of 2010, so I try to walk as little as possible in sympathy to the fungi colony. It helps me as well becauseiy hurts less

Then there is speed. if I walked, people would complain because I would be doing it very very slowly. I am a slow walker. I need the cart to move quickly. A grocery trip can take 5 to 6 hours if I have to walk, because I am not decisive and many of the unhealthy items I enjoy are far apart (the bakery and candy aisle are not close in my store, so I have to move between them). I smell bad as well so the longer I stay the more I contaminate my surroundings. i AM NOT sure but I am pretty sure the store once threw out over 200 bananas because I fell on them and coated them in my stench

I dn't like being fat and make no excuses but I need the cart, so fuck off.
