As a proud Lonestar State Nazi Wizard Weirwolf, I can inform you that the indian mass graves *COUGH* i mean burial grounds were made on 3lb blocks of dried beef, salt, and peppers. you'd break off chunks of it into a pot of water after a hard day of civilizing indians, cows, buffalos, and chupacabras, and you'd get a slurry of rehydrated beef and peppers. that's chili. if there's beans in it, it's not chili, it's stew, and if it involves tomatoes, it's "Modern Chilli"

Black beans are my favorite for chili. Thank you for asking, normiefriend.

I like pinto beans. As they cook, they break down and thicken the chili.

Cannellini beans or "white chili beans"

White beans.

I'm not even kidding.

What is this meme I've only come to recently find out where people don't like beans in their chili? Beans are probably the most inoffensive part of any meal they're in.

Cannellini, Black or Red Kidney. To be honest though, chili isn't exactly a high brow recipe. You can toss a shit load of stuff in. I've subbed in Pink beans too.

It's only not some silly 4chan meme, it's a serious matter of debate among chili cooks.

Most standardized rules for chili cookoffs specify no beans.

I was talking about real life too, I didn't realize. Thought it was just some people in my family. I can understand it for cookoffs but in a regular consumption scenario I much prefer beans if it's not going on a hot dog.
