Bong visiting extended family in Ausfagland where they currently think it's cold. Staying in Brisbane, Queensland if it matters.

What are some essential Ausfag fast food places I should try?

red rooster and oporto which are comparable to nando's( a little cheaper).
pie face is pretty shithouse, stick to local bakeries if you want a meat pie
i know it's not aussie but hakataya makes fucking good ramen, there's a few in brissy

Ramen would be nice. I'm not really looking for Ausfag "cuisine" just some stuff that you guys have that we don't get back home. Fast food is easier than find trying to get specific suggestions for places to go.

Burger Fuel or Big Roddy’s Rippin’ Rib Shack.
The Pancake Manor is only good if you're drunk and have had a good win at the shithole casino known as the Treasury.
Scratch the pancake manor actually, just get some Macca's or cheeky Nando's.

>> No.9249792

Red rooster, Oporto, Hungry Jacks, and while you're up north try fried barra & chips.

Try as many brands of meat pie as you can get your hands on, and sample as much local seafood as you can.

Booze-wise, Bundaberg Red and Bundaberg O.P. go well mixed with cola. Royal Liquor is good as a white Russian. Mango Wine is a thing up there too.

Grill'd is a fast food place you can visit, it's a nationwide franchise.

Why fast food only though? Just hit South Bank or something. Get yourself a chicken parmy.

Grilld is a step up from maccas and hj's, but it is a bit overpriced considering you are just getting burgers. It would probably be better to pay a bit more and go to a proper restaurant. There are plenty of good restaurants in Brisbane, no need to go to grilld.

None of our fast food is anything special. Assuming you're American, we don't have anything better than what you guys have. Definitely try kangaroo though. It's hard to cook properly, but if you know someone that knows how, or can find a restaurant where it's on the menu (haven't been to Brisbane so can't rec any sorry) it's fucking good. Tough as shit if it's overcooked, but a well cooked kangaroo steak is super delicious and way healthier than a beef steak

Nah, we aren't that great when it comes to local cuisine. I guess we are like any young immigrant nation where there's no real singular cuisine, and more like a mish mash of different cultures. I suggest you try our fresh produce though, especially meat. We are probably up there with Japan when it comes to meat quality.
