under EU law, you're not allowed to sell chicken that has been washed in chlorine for human consumption. this has caused a bit of a concern in the UK, as any trade deal with the US might lead to a lowering of food standards and therefore chlorine chicken being on the shelves in British supermarkets.

personally i don't know enough about food preparation and safety to know whether eating chicken that has been washed with chlorine has an effect on physical health, but it doesn't sound great
