Do you know who was the biggest buyer of kale 5 years ago before the craze? To fucking Pizza Hut to use as decorative garnish in their salad bars.

But then health food fags got a hold of it and now it's a meme.

I'm with this anon. It's heartier texture makes it so much more versatile. It's delicious, inexpensive and and nutritious. It isn't my go to green but I use it regularly to solid effect.

Don't be gay, kale (especially lacinato) is the king of cruciferous vegetables. You don't have to eat it plain or make retarded kale chips out of it, just use it properly and it won't taste overwhelmingly bitter like it does in its raw state. It's absolutely amazing in soups and pasta dishes, for instance.
