I tried pic related today. No spice. No sauce. No camera either hence the screenshot. It was bland as fuck. How do I add a little life to it?

>> No.9016617

What even is that? I see rice and golden sparkles.

That sounds like a good idea anon. Looking at the ingredients in furikake I feel tempted to add some to a thin sliced steak as well.

it's basically an umami bomb, I've been known to put it in pasta sauce (no bully pls)

I always wondered why packets of ramen were so thick with monosodium glutamate. Judging by the wikipedia article the nips use MSG like Americans use salt. Worth a taste anyway I guess.
Sometimes I'll throw any spice that's green into pasta sauce for shits & giggles. Sometimes it comes out nice, sometimes very badly. Just tossing some hefty amounts of oregano & parsley into off the shelf pasta sauce seems to work nicely in a pinch.

furikake and soy sauce

I personally just do a bit of salt, msg, shredded nori and soysauce mixed with dashi
You can really do whatever you want as long as there is some salt

>> No.9018305

You're suppose to add soy sauce to it.
>>9016617
It's a traditional Japanese dish, tamago kake gohan.

Oh for the love of fuck, OP. Why didn't you at least do your research first? You need a flavorful soy sauce and minced scallions AT THE LEAST. Plus, I also add ichimi togarashi and umi salt. Very few people just use only egg and rice.
