Anyone know any semi-fancy, impressive recipes I can make that won't break the bank?

I'm supposed to make dinner for the girl I'm seeing, but due to unexpected expenses, I'm broke-ish right now, and I really want to impress her so I can touch a boob. I'm not worried about how complicated or complex it is, just on the cheaper side. Was thinking maybe a gumbo or pulled pork...

I have a full pantry with spices and such, and all the pots and pans I would need. I've got no proteins, but I've got a few random veggies around.

Make a vegetable pasta. Sautee whatever you have then take your cooked pasta toss with the veggies and some olive oil. Top with grated parmesan or another hard cheese if you have it. Then a simple salad on the side with some crusty bread.

gumbo or jambalaya sound like good options. they have lots of flavor and seem more complicated than they really are, so it impresses people who don't know how it's made.

Gumbo would be good. Chicken and smoked sausage gumbo would be inexpensive. Try to make an impressive plating with wide soup bowls containing an ice cream scoop of white rice in the middle surrounded by the gumbo. Garnish with chives. That might get you more than a feel of booby.
