Fairly simple, they are in full damage control now that Breakfast All Day tanked and their idea to upscale their menu and increase prices was met with derision at best and disdain from most people. Plus all you need to market on 4chan is one dedicated poster and it's wicked easy to post a picture of McDonald's food and a single sentence, doing that multiple times a day with a dynamic IP.
