Smoked Meat Poutine I got a few days ago. Absolutely succulent.

Nothing like drowning decent looking ingredients in a corn starch and instant beef base "gravy".

Sounds like you've never had an actual good poutine.

Even the best poutine is mediocre drunk food.

I was actually just commenting on your picture; nice projection, though.

I hear this defense every single time but then everybody says how hard it is to find good poutine. Then someone suggests that X has the best poutine, but another person comes in and claims that X is shit and Y has the best, and this repeats until it finally loops. I'm at the point where I figure it's all over-rated meme food.

why not try making it yourself? the components of the dish seem simple enough.

make or otherwise acquire the "best" fries, gravy, and cheese curds, and assemble. ezpz, yeah?

If you don't basically live in Montreal or at the ABSOLUTE MINIMUM near the Canadian border, you won't find a good poutine. I thankfully live in a town in NY where a guy who was a cook for ages in Montreal decided to move to for whatever reason and makes it here now.

Yeah but then if I don't like it or think it's overrated garbage "i did it wrong, you gotta try it in real canada"

i live in SE PA so I guess I could do a little driving one day to give it a shot for myself. I do enjoy road trips.

This doesn't deserve a general because it's fucking shite food.

The only Canadians who make (decent) poutine, are the French. Duck confit poutine is worth the trip up I-95 to me. Between Vancouver and Montreal don't matter, Canada in general doesn't matter...It's a commonwealth of your Nation. Property, every living being.

Name one food that doesn't get that exact same treatment on /ck/. Look no further than the whisky thread a few posts down to see the exact same phenomenon

Years ago I used to gig alot around west Quebec and east Ontario...nothing better than a good poutine at 3 am before bed...

Some damn fine times were had...

The fries and sauce are easy to get in the us, but getting cheese curds in burgerland is next to impossible. No fucking wonder I keep hearing Americans saying they tried it and we're unimpressed. If your curd doesn't squeak when you bite it, it's not good.
