Are we allowed to talk wine here? Seems like the wine threads always get deleted. No not "archived" they literally 404.

Anyway why do plebs ruin some varietals and not others? For instance sauv blanc and pinot noir have been ruined. Of course you can get good stuff but if you just roll the dice and pick a bottle at random it's garbage. Yet others such as nebbiolo and asyrtiko have escaped defilement. It's rarely worse than "decent, I guess". Why is this? And what's the next grape to get raped by the masses?
