So if you factor in something like a buy one get one free coupon (which you can get easily on your phone) the big mac + coupon is cheaper for more food.

You're only correct if there's reason to assume they don't want to pay their own internet bill.
But you can get WiFi literally everywhere. I'm a thousand feet up in Appalachia sitting on my couch with free WiFi, and there are 35 different places I could walk to and get it. Mcdonalds isn't unique, those people probably just want out of the cold for the most part.

I personally would never sit around somewhere just for internet though. What would I do, talk to meatheads on /ck/? That's not fun at all.
