what is the european equivalent of super wal mart? for reference, wal mart is a discount food and clothing store that sells 98% processed foods and the average customer has no more than a 10th grade education.

Well if you want to be literal this is a large chain in the UK that was bought out by Walmart.

Im not sure there really is one, in britbongland people only tend to go to asda/tescos(large well known chains) because they havent discovered aldi or lidl yet.

But if youre asking if there is anything for yurope like peopleofwalmart.com you will be dissapointed.

depends on the country? europe has different chains depending on where you live.
for mme the lower end discount shops are probably netto, Rema 1000, and Fakta.
But there's nothing like a 98% processed food shop.

>lower end discount shops
Do they have a proper food section or just things that don't need refrigeration?

Does Wallmart have?

Poundland in UK or Dealz in Ireland (same shop. Different name).

Full of chavs or in the city centre, full of Brazilians or some sort of Spanish

>> No.8637053

Iceland serves that demographic in the UK but it's a frozen food shop rather than a general supermarket
>unironically getting Kerry fucking Katona to do your adverts

Kwik Save and Netto were similar but I think they're dead now and Aldi and Lidl aren't really comparable they're just cheap

>> No.8637068

Lidl here.
Quality of products though often surpass that shit they sell us in the "better" stores.

nah you're misunderstanding OP

walmart is a hypermarket more comparable to Bilka or maybe Ica Maxi

Well what's a super wal mart then?

Having shopped my way around mainland europe the largest ive seen is Metro cash and carry, but its more comparable to costco as you need a membership but they sell bulk and individual goods, a lot of restaurants use them as they sell commercial quality food stuffs and equipment best one is in Berlin followed by Paris, as for other countries in Europe there is Spar which have a few large outlets in Croatia and in Scandinavia, Pam or Panorama in Italy, Sligro in the Netherlands is an awesome chain that has pretty much anything you could want in a kitchen; commercial or domestic again, requires membership. Auchan is a french chain that has stores in Hungary too, very large, mainly just home-wares and groceries there though and lastly there is a massive tesco store in Bratislava, Slovakia and another just across the border to Czechia. Probably missing a few but generally the cash and carry stores easy enough to find in any given country, just not a singular monopoly like Walmart

A Super Wal-Mart has a grocery store attached to it. So you can buy fresh foods, too. Usually low-quality.
