chicken and vegetable soup:

i roasted a chicken last night, so made stock today (bones, skin, onions, celery, garlic, bay leaves, peppercorns, simmered on low 5 hours). soaked and cooked cannellini beans while the stock was cooking.

sautéed onions, carrots, and celery, added garlic and tomato paste, then a can of diced tomatoes. dumped in a lot of the stock and the mostly cooked beans, fresh thyme and rosemary, and simmered for 30 minutes. then added diced chicken, fresh chopped green beans, s&p.

served over baby spinach with fresh parm.

Ah, the ol' San Francisco pooter-shooter.

My ma used to make these when I was a kid. After a long rainy day, my siblings and I would return to our tiny house, covered head-to-toe with mud, dripping wet from playing in the rain. Our ma would dry us off and have us strip down to our underwear right at the doorstep-we didn't care though, we were kids. We'd all sit right on top of the only heating vent in the living room, squeezed together like a pack of sardines. After we were properly dried and dressed, ma would herd us all to the kitchen table to let us devour her specialty:

buttery, fried, savory, salty nigger dicks, smothered in nigger assholes.

Ma would always take extra care in placing the nigger dicks only a little ways into the nigger assholes. Me and my siblings would always thank ma(and God, of course) for the wonderful experience that was Great American Cooking. And the top of the recipe list of my American childhood were these roasted niggerdicks, covered in nigger holes. To this day, I still remember the texture of the nigger dicks, lightly protruding into the nigger holes, slurped up in my mouth as my wet hair was drip-drying in the warm glow of an afternoon with my siblings. I still remember the slurping sounds at the table, where me and my siblings would munch on the nigger holes first, then all together, slurp up the nigger penises like a band of drunken trombone players.

I loved my ma.

Rib steak and crinkle cut oven fries. One of the best steaks I ever had, much better marbling than what I usually get in a rib steak instead of the typical big fat blob in the middle. The grocery store had prime rib roasts on sale for $2/lb less than the steaks so I got a small roast and cut it in to two steaks. Some kind of makeshift leftover ham stew with
1x onion

Do you not eat at your desk?
The only time I actually use my table is when I'm eating with other people

>>Do you not eat at your desk?
Never.

-it's bad manners
-it increases the chance of making a mess somewhere where it's difficult to clean up
-I don't want to get the inevitable crumbs and drips anywhere near where I work or sleep.

bad manners for whom?

if you're alone "manners" don't matter anymore

or do you excuse yourself to another room to fart when you're alone too?

It's not about others, it's about you. It's a consistent habit that you follow all the time.

Do you also say to yourself: I'm not planning on meeting anyone today, so fuck taking a shower, putting on deodorant, or brushing my teeth?

>>or do you excuse yourself to another room to fart when you're alone too?

I don't excuse myself to fart. If I have to fart, I fart. If other people are present then I say excuse me.

You say that, but my experience has taught me otherwise. I live in a house with 4 bedrooms. For the last 15 years I've had 3 other housemates. I will only eat in the kitchen (or outside if we're doing a BBQ or something). My room is spotless after those 15 years. All the other bedrooms, and the hallways, have stains on the carpet from fools carrying food in there to eat in their rooms.

I actually just got done vacuuming one of the hallways a little while ago. There's pasta sauce on the wall next to one of my house-mate's doors from where he somehow managed to spill it carrying a bowl of pasta into his room.

People may not notice it, but they absolutely do make a mess eating at their desks. You can see all sorts of spots and stains in the areas where people had a desk and chair set up. People think they're clean when they eat...but no, they are not.

That's why you buy a desk that's not made for a teenage girl and actually has some space on it for more than your laptop and a diary.
