Fuck yeah. French toast is so much better now I finally figured out how to make it correctly.
Three steps that are absolutely required for amazing French toast:
1. Use top quality hearty white bread. Ciabatta is a good choice. Cheap sandwich bread ruins it.
2. Add a spoonful of sugar and a spoonful of flour to your custard. Yes, flour. It works.
3. Fry in butter until lightly browned, but its not done. Ten more minutes in a 400 degree oven. Now its done.
