Instant Rice, microwave for 6-7 min, has seasonings. Toss on a can of black beans done, no clean up.
My rice cooker just sits there now.

I drain them with a spaghetti strainer but don't rinse them, added chilly peppers last time, have a bag of basmati rice. But cooking for one just not worth using the rice cooker.
I get a bunch of the low sodium ones when they are on sale.

It's not preseasoned, that comes in a packet you add, why spend 3/4 of an hour when I can get my shit done in 7min.

Instant rice is absolutely disgusting, and if you have a rice cooker you aren't wasting any time anyways; you just set it and forget it.

Wash the rice, cook the rice....waiting, clean the rice cooker. Also these have flavor packets.
Sometimes I'm not in the mood to go through all that trouble for one person, add some microwave frozen Veggies... DINNER done X3...

I don't have time.
Usual... shredded sweet potato+basmati rice +Black beans...3/4 of an hour.
...Or instant done in 7 min, just something to do when in a pinch..
