Deep dish (real deep dish) is so different from floppy, fordable thing pizza it's almost like a different thing altogether. What i'm saying is you can enjoy both

Honestly Chicago style deep dish "pizza" is barely even pizza at all. I will never understand the stupid war between it, and any other type of actual pizza. Not that its bad in any way, just that its retarded for them to compete.

memes aside, chicago style gets pizza wrong in every possible way

- attempts to compensate lack of flavor/dynamism with a fuckload of cheese
- no cheese browning
- sauce is a major point in the style, yet rarely if ever is anything interesting done with it
- extremely doughy "crust"

the 'go 'za meme is well deserved

>> No.8351900

I line all kinds of pizza. I didn't think I liked thin crust until I lost weight and started going back to pizza buffets you can east a lot more pizza if it's thin crust. Pizzeria Uno is the closest thing I've had to that traditional Chicago style pizza in the OP and I find their sauce to be too fruity (not salty enough) but that had nothing to do with the style of the pizza itself.

That actually looks pretty alright. I can deal with a bit of a floppy pizza, just fold it, but a more rigid bottom is generally better (even a thin crust can be properly rigid without being too crunchy or dry)

They should have baked it in a square shape though, the uneven small pieces will just be unsatisfying.

The problem with thin crust is not only the retarded way its cut, but the fact that they use the same sauce as they do for the deep dish.
Its WAY too sweet unless theres a ton of ingredients, cheese, and crust to counteract it.

I don't knwo why Chicagoans don't embrace deep dish more. All the other shit they hype up, like Italian beefs and thin crust, are just shitty version of superior east coast varieties
