It'll work fine, if you're in prison. Otherwise you'll need either a brew bucket (~5$), or a carboy (~15$), stopper, and air lock, bottling bucket (~5$), Campden tablets, siphon hose, auto siphon, proper yeast, either Champagne or Nottingham, & Star San. Mussleman's cider will work OK if it's all you can find, but fresh unpasteurized is better. alternatively you can get fresh unpasteurized cider and place it in a carboy (or leave it in its original container) wrap some cheese cloth around the neck and let the natural yeasts do their work, though that's unpredictable and needs to be consumed asap. After fermentation, one usually draws it off to a secondary carboy and stashes it in a dark cool place for a month a while until it clears up, then bottles it and stores it in the same for several months to age. There are loads of cider making boards on the tubes. Lurk & learn.

And if you're looking to make just prison juice, any and only juices preserved with ascorbic acid (vitamin C) will ferment, just add raisins. Ghetto as fuck, but you're 12. Put in the back of the closet in a place where your mom won't find it when she's cleaning your room.

Nah. Methanol boils at 65 degrees, ethanol boils at 78. If he heats it up to 70 he'll be fine, but it's going to be downright horrible because of fusel oils.

What about using pure sugar?
