How well would this work, /ck/? Any advice on stuff to add for flavor, where to keep it during the 2 months, etc?

It'll work fine, if you're in prison. Otherwise you'll need either a brew bucket (~5$), or a carboy (~15$), stopper, and air lock, bottling bucket (~5$), Campden tablets, siphon hose, auto siphon, proper yeast, either Champagne or Nottingham, & Star San. Mussleman's cider will work OK if it's all you can find, but fresh unpasteurized is better. alternatively you can get fresh unpasteurized cider and place it in a carboy (or leave it in its original container) wrap some cheese cloth around the neck and let the natural yeasts do their work, though that's unpredictable and needs to be consumed asap. After fermentation, one usually draws it off to a secondary carboy and stashes it in a dark cool place for a month a while until it clears up, then bottles it and stores it in the same for several months to age. There are loads of cider making boards on the tubes. Lurk & learn.

Nah. Methanol boils at 65 degrees, ethanol boils at 78. If he heats it up to 70 he'll be fine, but it's going to be downright horrible because of fusel oils.
